Built by a localGemaakt door een local
I'm Riki. I am Syrian, born in Dubai, and Zaandam has been my home for more than ten years. I teach urban dance across the region, I co-founded the Back to the Street dance event, and I chair Stichting Coffee & Dance, the non-profit foundation that runs GoZaanstad.
The foundation exists to give local culture and young talent a stage. GoZaanstad is part of that work: a free guide that puts the region's places, routes, events and makers on one map, so a young dancer, a neighbourhood market or a small museum is as easy to find as the Zaanse Schans. About the foundation
"Zaanstad is not just where I live. It is who I am."
"Zaanstad is niet alleen waar ik woon. Het is wie ik ben."
